If you use a standard one-way paper ticket, transfers are not included.<\/p>\n<p>Some connections are particularly straightforward because they run through the main transport hubs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tombs of the Kings Bus Station<\/strong> is one of the most useful. It connects with Paphos Harbour, Paphos Airport, Coral Bay and other parts of the city.<\/p>\n<p>Paphos Harbour is another useful hub.<\/p>\n<p>If you are staying close to one of these main connections, using buses can therefore be surprisingly easy.<\/p>\n<p>And for many typical holiday journeys, you really don\u2019t need a car.<\/p>\n<p>You can check current fares and routes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pafosbuses.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">official Paphos bus website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"pyr-photo-single\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Paphos Harbor and medieval castle in Cyprus\" src=\"https:\/\/puppyyogaretreats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_9157-scaled.jpeg\" title=\"\">\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"pyr-chapter translation-block\">\n<header class=\"pyr-chapter-header\"><h2>Aber nicht jede Bushaltestelle ist gleich leicht zu finden<\/h2><\/header>\n<div class=\"pyr-read\">\n<p>Ab hier wird meine Erfahrung etwas weniger unkompliziert.<\/p>\n<p>Google Maps ist in Paphos durchaus hilfreich.<\/p>\n<p>Aber ich w\u00fcrde mich nicht blind darauf verlassen.<\/p>\n<p>Ich musste einmal von <strong>Mesogi<\/strong> aus mit dem Bus fahren, einem Gebiet etwas weiter im Landesinneren von Paphos. Ich stand an einer Stra\u00dfe, die im Grunde eine Hauptstra\u00dfe ist, und laut Google Maps sollten sich ganz in der N\u00e4he mehrere Bushaltestellen befinden.<\/p>\n<p>Ich konnte dort allerdings keine einzige eindeutig erkennbare Haltestelle finden.<\/p>\n<p>Das bedeutet nicht, dass dort keine Busse fahren.<\/p>\n<p>Es zeigt aber, dass ein kleines Bushaltestellen-Symbol auf dem Handy etwas ganz anderes sein kann, als tats\u00e4chlich am Stra\u00dfenrand zu stehen und herausfinden zu m\u00fcssen, wo genau man eigentlich warten soll.<\/p>\n<p>Auf den wichtigsten Strecken und an bekannten Verkehrsknotenpunkten wie <strong>Tombs of the Kings oder dem Hafen von Paphos<\/strong> ist das Ganze meist deutlich einfacher.<\/p>\n<p>Je weiter du dich von diesen Hauptstrecken entfernst, desto mehr w\u00fcrde ich die Verbindung im Voraus pr\u00fcfen, statt mich einfach nur auf Google Maps zu verlassen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"pyr-quote\"><p>Eine Bushaltestelle auf der Karte bedeutet nicht automatisch, dass der \u00f6ffentliche Nahverkehr dort auch wirklich praktisch ist.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"pyr-chapter pyr-chapter--cream translation-block\">\n<header class=\"pyr-chapter-header\"><h2>Wo du wohnst, macht einen Unterschied<\/h2><\/header>\n<div class=\"pyr-read\">\n<p>Das ist wahrscheinlich der wichtigste Tipp, den ich jedem geben w\u00fcrde, der Paphos m\u00f6glichst viel ohne Auto erkunden m\u00f6chte.<\/p>\n<p>Schau bei deiner Unterkunft nicht nur darauf, wie sch\u00f6n sie ist, sondern auch darauf, <strong>wie du deinen Urlaub tats\u00e4chlich verbringen m\u00f6chtest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Wenn du viele Ausfl\u00fcge auf eigene Faust mit dem Bus machen m\u00f6chtest, kann eine Unterkunft in der N\u00e4he eines der wichtigsten Verkehrsknotenpunkte deinen Alltag deutlich einfacher machen.<\/p>\n<p>Wenn du dagegen haupts\u00e4chlich entspannen, viel Zeit in deiner Unterkunft verbringen und nur gelegentlich mit dem Taxi oder Bus unterwegs sein m\u00f6chtest, kann eine ruhigere Lage wunderbar passen.<\/p>\n<p>Das sind einfach zwei ganz unterschiedliche Arten von sein<\/h2><\/header>\n<div class=\"pyr-read\">\n<p>Es gibt noch etwas, das man beim Blick auf Google Maps erstaunlich leicht \u00fcbersieht.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Die H\u00f6henunterschiede.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sobald du dich von der K\u00fcste weiter ins Landesinnere bewegst, wird ein gro\u00dfer Teil der Region Paphos zunehmend h\u00fcgelig.<\/p>\n<p>Dadurch kann ein vermeintlich kurzer Fu\u00dfweg zu einer Bushaltestelle deutlich anstrengender sein, als er auf dem Handy aussieht \u2013 besonders in den w\u00e4rmeren Monaten.<\/p>\n<p>Ein Kilometer an der flachen Strandpromenade ist etwas ganz anderes als ein Kilometer bergauf.<\/p>\n<p>Wenn du also vorhast, viel mit dem Bus zu fahren, w\u00fcrde ich nicht nur pr\u00fcfen:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pyr-rhythm\">\n<p>Wie weit ist die n\u00e4chste Haltestelle entfernt?<\/p>\n<p>Wie sieht der Weg dorthin tats\u00e4chlich aus?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pyr-read\">\n<p>Das ist besonders hilfreich, wenn du Unterk\u00fcnfte au\u00dferhalb der wichtigsten Touristengebiete vergleichst.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"pyr-chapter translation-block\">\n<header class=\"pyr-chapter-header\"><h2>Was ist mit Sonntagen, Wochenenden und Feiertagen?<\/h2><\/header>\n<div class=\"pyr-read\">\n<p>Auch deshalb lohnt sich ein wenig Planung.<\/p>\n<p>Manche Buslinien fahren am Wochenende, sonntags oder an Feiertagen seltener, und einige Verbindungen enden fr\u00fcher, als du vielleicht erwartest.<\/p>\n<p>Wenn du das vorher wei\u00dft, ist das normalerweise kein Problem.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4rgerlich wird es nur, wenn du es erst abends bemerkst und irgendwo stehst und dich fragst, wie du wieder nach Hause kommst.<\/p>\n<p>Wenn du den Bus also f\u00fcr einen Tagesausflug nutzt, w\u00fcrde ich vor der Abfahrt immer auch die <strong>R\u00fcckfahrt<\/strong> pr\u00fcfen.<\/p>\n<p>Nicht nur den Hinweg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"pyr-chapter bietet Fahrten innerhalb der Stadt an.<\/p>\n<p>Au\u00dferdem gibt es lokale Taxiunternehmen und Apps wie CabCY.<\/p>\n<p>Wenn du eine dieser Apps schon auf deinem Handy eingerichtet hast, bevor du Auto weiterreisen<\/h2><\/header>\n<div class=\"pyr-read\">\n<p>Auch ohne Mietwagen ist die Weiterreise vom Flughafen Paphos ziemlich unkompliziert.<\/p>\n<p>Der <strong>Bus 612 verbindet den Flughafen Paphos direkt mit der Bushaltestelle Tombs of the Kings<\/strong> und ist daher besonders praktisch, wenn du in einem der zentraleren Touristengebiete wohnst.<\/p>\n<p>Alternativ kannst du nat\u00fcrlich auch ein Taxi nehmen.<\/p>\n<p>Ich w\u00fcrde also ganz sicher nicht allein deshalb einen Mietwagen buchen, weil du dir Sorgen machst, wie du vom Flughafen nach Paphos kommst.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"pyr-quote\"><p>Die wichtigere Frage ist, was du machen m\u00f6chtest, wenn du erst einmal dort bist.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/section>\n<section mainly want to explore central Paphos, absolutely.<\/p>\n<p>The harbour and surrounding seafront are easy to combine on foot, and places such as the Paphos Archaeological Park and Tombs of the Kings fit naturally into a car-free stay.<\/p>\n<p>Coral Bay is also connected by bus from Tombs of the Kings.<\/p>\n<p>It becomes more complicated when you want to explore the more remote parts of the Paphos region.<\/p>\n<p>Akamas, small villages, isolated beaches and <a href=\"\/de\/edro-iii-shipwreck-cyprus\/\">some stretches of coastline<\/a> give you much more freedom if you have your own car.<\/p>\n<p>That does not mean you cannot visit them without one.<\/p>\n<p>You might take a taxi, join an excursion or hire a car for just one or two days rather than your entire
